Does Steve Lipski hold an elected office? Steve Lipski is a member of the Jersey City Council. He was re-elected in 2005 on the ticket of Mayor Healy. Steve Lipski represents Ward C -- which includes Journal Square the physical and transportation center of Jersey City.

Why is Lipski called Flipski?
Steve Lipski was elected in 2001 on the ticket of Glenn Cunningham. When the Cunningham-Menendez ticket began, Lipski -- along with most Hudson County Democrats -- turned on the African-American mayor of Jersey City. As Glenn's popularity held steady, Lipski flipped back into the Cunningham camp. Lipski did a flying leap back to the County when Cunningham died in 2004. Lipski has jumped ship so many times that he might qualify for a Navy pension.
